Double Trouble 2026: Bigger, Better & Wilder Than Ever

Double Trouble returned to BlocHaus for 2026 and somehow managed to outdo itself once again. The UK’s only doubles bouldering competition keeps growing in size, creativity and chaos, and this year delivered the biggest spectacle yet.
For those unfamiliar, Double Trouble flips competition climbing on its head. With problems designed for two climbers working together; boosting, counterbalancing, coordinating and occasionally launching one another into space. It’s not just about strength; it’s about trust, timing and teamwork.
And in 2026, that teamwork was tested more than ever before.

Right from the Beginning it was clear this was going to be on hell of an event.
The qualification blocs demanded sharp problem-solving and seamless communication. Teams had to adapt quickly, shifting from delicate balance sections to powerful partner-assisted moves without missing a beat.
The leader board stayed tight across every category, with battles for finals spots going right down to the wire. As the crowd grew and the noise built, so did the pressure. By the end qualifiers, only the top five teams in each category remained standing.

Double Trouble has always embraced the ridiculous, but 2026 raised the bar.
This year’s fancy dress was on another level. Fully committed character duos, creative handmade outfits and perfectly coordinated themes filled the gym. Teams didn’t just show up to climb, they showed up to perform.
The effort added colour, energy and plenty of laughs throughout the day. Safe to say: this was the strongest fancy dress showing in Double Trouble history.

If qualifiers built the tension, finals exploded it.
The top five teams from each category faced off in a head-to-head showdown, with the full doubles twist still firmly in play. The problems were bigger, more dynamic and designed to push commitment to the limit.
The standout feature? Competitors swinging straight through the middle of the room!
Climbers launched into bold moves, completely trusting their partners. Every moment had the crowd on edge, and each perfectly executed catch brought a roar of relief and excitement.
This was Double Trouble at its finest.
